See Through the Trees, a series I’ve been working on for the past couple of months keeps evolving and it has become a deeper study of line, color, and composition. I may never tire of these elements. The series began with many years of photographing the many beautiful nature spots around our town. I began to manipulate the images with my unique style of digital art. By combining my acrylic abstract art photographs with my nature photographs, I created composits of the two images. I realized astract art and natural forms make a great pair. This led to the desire to create a series about our woods where we takes hikes with our family and dog Mary Beth. I wanted to create images of trees just using acrylics. I experiminted with rope, rubber hoses and finally a hanger. Thick hangers, thin hangers, foam hangers, and pant hangers. The pant hanger gave me the most control! That did the trick! I got a long colorful line! I dabbed in more color, ooooh. Yes! I haven’t been able to stop since. I hope you enjoy the series as much as I have!
